HUTCHISON Family Photograph
Shelley Cardiel
I’ve “rescued” an old photograph identified as that of Agnes HUTCHISON at age 5 years. The photograph was taken at the C. T. STUART Studio in Hartford, CT sometime in the 1880’s. It appears that there were a number of possible matches in that area at the time so I’m not sure which Agnes this might be. I’m hoping to locate someone from her family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks, Shelley

You might have better luck going through the mother, Mary Sherwood. They are well populated in Fairfield County all descended from,Thomas Sherwood who came to Stratford.

WOODWORTH Family Photograph
Shelley Cardiel
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Harry Chester WOODWORTH which was taken at the Bartlett & Webster Studio in Hartford, CT sometime in the 1860's. Harry appears to be about 3-4 years old in the photograph. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Harry and his family:
Harry Chester WOODWORTH was b. Oct 1860 in Westport, CT to parents Benjamin Lord or Lloyd WOODWORTH (1834-1913) and Mary Elizabeth SHERWOOD (1830-1893). Harry had a sister, Mary Isabella or Isabel “Bella” WOODWORTH LATHROP (1858-1889). Harry married Mary Emma CUSICK (1866-1961) and they had two children, Chester Sherwood (1893-1968) and Everett Lord (1895-1970). Harry died 16 Mar 1954 in Westport, CT and is buried in the Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport, CT.
I am hoping to locate someone from this WOODWORTH Family so that the photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks, Shelley

I have been researching the Prindle family for years, lately I have been trying to nail down all the places my Joel Prindle and his wife Deborah Bigelow lived with their family.

September 24, 1752, Timothy was christened in Rhinebeck NY Joel and Deborah with children and grandchildren were living in Skenesboro (Whitehall) New York - 1773 Feb. - Tim family of 3 - Joel Sr family of 5 - Joel Jr family of 2 - Wm family of 2 Joseph Prindle married Anna Marie Springsteen on 14 Feb 1779 in the Reformed Dutch Church at Albany. Sorting out the John Bakers
#Litchfield
#New-London
I am trying to sort out the John Bakers who may have started out in New London, but moved to Litchfield County. There is a John Baker Sr, Deacon John Baker, Lieut. John Baker, etc., and it is possible that some of the titles are shared by the same person who went by them at different points in his life. The John Baker I know for sure was born 11 April 1703 in New London and died 07 May 1787 in Roxbury, Litchfield County. He married Patience Hurlbut and his children include Mary Baker (b. 1730; m. Joseph Allen) and Seth Baker (b. 1735; m. Abigail Woodruff).
There are a number of published genealogies since Mary was the mother of Ethan Allen and most of them point back to Alexander Baker who arrived Charles Town, Massachusetts Bay Colony, in 1635. However, I recall seeing a reference to an article written some time ago that suggested John Baker of Roxbury was not a descendant of his. I am now trying to find that article again since I didn't make a copy or write down the reference at the time. I am trying to document the connections, so any help in sorting out all the John Bakers would be appreciated! Wes Baker

Thanks Ann for the feedback. I see Columbia County is quite close to Northwestern Connecticut and so this could indeed be the Utleys Betsey Ann descended from. Larry

Please post whatever you are looking for now until April 8. and the emphasis - DO NOT REPLY TO THIS POST. Create your own post. Why? As the only admin and only moderator. Those who post first time, has to get my approval to ensure that you are not a spammer or phisher.
