Fisher family Connecticut and Long Island
#New-London
Mary Henley
I have searched for years for the progenitor of my Fisher family. I can’t get any further back than three brothers who turn up in 1850 in Suffolk Co. Long Island.
Simeon C. Fisher, b. 1815-1820 in CT; d. 1879 in Southold, Suffolk Co. NY. Marr. Sarah A. Jennings, daughter of Ebenezer Jennings of Southold, Suffolk, NY Benjamin Franklin Fisher, b. c1823. Middletown, Middlesex Co. CT; d. 1876 Norwich, New London Co. CT. Marr. 1847 to Fanny Maria Havens of Suffolk, NY. (5 children) Marr. 1865 Martha Ann Johnson of New London, New London, CT (5 children) William W. Fisher, b. 1825 in CT; d. 1890 Greenport, Suffolk Co. NY Marr. Lydia “Ella” Corwin of Southold, Suffolk, NY
I have too much info on these men and their families to post it all here. I’d greatly appreciate anything you think might tie into this family.
Hint: they were all painters by occupation.
Thank you for reading.

Peck family of Hartford, Middletown, Berlin, New Haven & Litchfield, CT
Carol
I have researched this family extensively and also have inherited the Peck family Bibles and a notebook full of Peck info. etc. If anyone is researching this family and wants to see if I can help them, I would be glad to check my resources.
At one time I offered these Bibles and original writings to the CT State Library (I think that's the name of the place that hold CT historical records) but no one seemed interested. As far as I know, these records exist no where else. Carol White

Those who post first time, has to get my approval to ensure that you are not a spammer or phisher. April 9 (maybe) until about April 20, no new posts from those who have NOT posted before will be approved. Why? I have non-elective surgery April 10 to remove tumor from my neck. I beg to differ. They stay free once complete because of the agreements made with the Federation of Genealogical Societies (now merged with National Genealogical Society for administrative purposes.) We raised funds to pay for digitalization of the records to be free to all. David Samuelsen

Just to remind you that the War of 1812 pension files are still free on Fold3.com I believe you need to have an account. they are 80% complete - I think they are in the S's now. I have a feeling once they are at 100% they won't be free - so get them while you can :-) Julie
